Good mat, but a bit slippery
I’ve been a long time fan of Hugger Mugger mats. I bought this one after I loved my last one (one of their tapas mats) to death. I like the size and the thickness of this mat, as well as the colors. My only issue is that my hands slip ): I have to use a yoga towel to do downward dog properly. One of the previous reviews said that she had a similar problem and that she assumed it would go away as she broke the mat in, so I waited for that to happen, but I’ve had it for about six months now and haven’t had any improvement. As a long time customer and fan, I am a tad disappointed. Besides the slipping, the mat is great.

Love this mat!
I've been looking for just this thickness of mat and am delighted to have been exposed to it by another student in my yoga classes. I've only had it about a week (3 classes or so) and my only initial concern was my hands slipping on the surface in down dog. But, I have cleaned it well after ever class and the finish that is causing the slippage seems to be wearing off just fine. I'll report back if I'm not completely satisfied with that feature. The student I learned about the mat from had actually stated she loved how it grabbed so I'm sure it will get there completely for me as well. The reason for my 4 stars on price is the shipping - really takes the price up a lot.

Eco friendly yet durable
I ordered this mat because my old one (same style) was about 10 years old and losing the grip. Because it served me so well, I ordered the same thing. I like the extra length and thickness. I plan to use the old mat under the dog in the car and in the garden under my knees.

FAVORITE MAT EVAR!
This mat is amazing for many different reasons! It's lightweight, super soft to the touch, AND has superb surface grip. I feel like I am practicing on a cloud when I step onto this mat!

Perfect for Restorative Yoga
I will never use another mat for Restorative and Yin yoga! The Earth Elements' grippy, dry texture keeps me in place, while its soft cushioning is perfect for sensitive knees and wrists – especially when holding postures for longer periods of time. This mat does get slippery with sweat, but that's why I have my Para Rubber Mat for more active practices.

Great value. Not slippery. Great cushioning.
Love everything about this mat.

Fabulous mat for anyone with tender parts
I bought my first about 4 yrs ago, and have never regretted it. I have an old knee injury and it has made a huge difference for me. I use it for both yoga and pilates. It has lasted beautifully for 4+ yrs, but I never leave it in the car.

Great cushioning and nice and sticky
For past few years I've been using the Tapas Ultra Mat, but this time I wanted a mat with more cushioning but still nice and sticky. I found it in this beauty.

Soft but smelly
This mat is extremely soft but smells terrible. I have scrubbed, sprayed and showered, and the smell won't go away. It's the softest feeling. It slips a little but not too bad.
