Slip-Free Flow: The Perfect Mat for Hot Yoga!

Posted by Danielle on Aug 20th 2018

This is a well designed mat. I have to use a yoga towel on my mats all the time because I slip a lot. I started using this mat and now I can flow very easily without fear of slipping. The traction gets better as the mat gets wet so it's really good for hot yoga.

A Dream Yoga Mat - Meets All Expectations!

Posted by Joni Gardine on Aug 6th 2018

LOVE THIS MAT!! I was looking for a mat that #1 wouldn't tear up my feet like the high end super grippy mats I've bought and #2 was small enough to travel with but substantial enough to use everyday. This fit both criteria perfectly! You do need to spritz it with water in the beginning for the grip. That being said, in humid climates I haven't needed to. And, how great is it that it's machine washable? I love that feature! I've washed mine now three times and it's come out perfect each time. Great for beach practice, too. The sand just shakes right off. Also, it's gorgeous!

    Best for Hot Sweaty Yoga!

    Posted by train4tris on Jul 29th 2018

My favorite map for hot yoga. It is grippy if it is wet. For cold yoga...it's a bit slippery but fabulous for hot sweaty yoga

Impressed Yoga Teacher - Great for Both Sweaty and Non-Sweaty Classes

Posted by S Marie on May 22nd 2018

I have boxes of yoga mats, some name brand, because I am a yoga teacher. I have never had any problems with slipping or gripping, but for some reason I suddenly started noticing that I was slipping moving from a simple pose like warrior one into warrior two. I was also having trouble gripping in simple poses like high lunge when my feet were sweaty. This may not seem like a huge problem, and really it's not ...until you start making yoga films for people to practice at home and get 45 minutes through a video only to slip and ruin the whole thing and have to start over. So my fiancé got me this mat, and so far I am impressed. Ive seen reviews not to use it for your typical vinyasa flow class, but that its great for hot classes. I totally disagree, and find it is a godsend in a typical/nonsweaty class as well.I just don't spray it down beforehand, and find that I now glide gracefully from simple poses like warrior one to warrior two because of the smoothe surface, without slipping. So far, so good!

Perfect for Hot Yoga – Soft, Velvety, and Luxurious!

Posted by AYB on May 19th 2018

I ordered this mat, a bit worried about all the reviews. I used it today for the first time in a Bikram yoga class and loved it. Let me give some specific details :) I am a casual yogi (once a week usually) and have a preference for hot yoga. I do not sweat much...my issue was that I was using yogitoes towels on a regular mat and slipping on those then just taking them off mid practice to use a bare mat. Ils bad issues with the mat I had sometimes bunching or the towel bunching (i had an old lulu mat which was sort of lightweight and was starting to crumble :p). I thought this might be a good alternative (and less to carry to and from class) and I was right. The mat is heavy, good quality and the soft side is velvety and luxurious. I personally love the feel of this mat. The colors and designs are beautiful, which I care about (I like aesthetics). My husband borrowed my mat later in the day (didn't tell me lol) and didn't like it...so here is why I think that might be. He is a lot less controlled when practicing (more forceful when coming out of standing postures, pushes himself over the limit of what he can hold comfortably) and I think those yogis have a harder time with slipping since they need the mat to them in place. He is also a massive sweater and I think the mat got too wet (not as absorbent as a towel) for him. I loved the mat, and even found that in between postures the mat cooled down, but this is probably because I ended up in a spot under some ventilation so the wet areas got cool. For the price, I highly recommend the mat. I am 130lbs and a controlled not so sweaty yogi :) i think it's totally worth the price, love the design options! I will probably get my husband a Manduka pro mat for that extra grip. Hope this helps! Namaste :)
