YDL Combo Travel Yoga Mat - 2-in-1 (Mat + Towel) 1.5 mm - Best For Travel

UPDATE 9/17/16: I've hand-washed the mat a few times now. Each time after wash, it's become more and more slip-free! Still very happy with this product, it's been a hot summer but I've been able to practice comfortably on this mat.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was so excited to receive this mat. I have been looking for a better quality mat than what I have now that a.) won't send me slippin' and slidin' and b.) won't break the bank. This one fit the bill. When I first received the mat, I didn't bother spraying with water because it only takes 2 minutes of movements for my body to start generating heat. Not to mention, I live in Florida. I've used it in full 60-75 minute classes with and without spraying with water, and both times worked great! I wouldn't say it's 100% slip-free...but the slippage is definitely GREATLY reduced. I think my palms are just helpless and will slip more than my feet. With that said, I think a little, just A LITTLE slippage is okay because it makes you pay attention to muscles you need to use to stabilize yourself. It really does work better the more you sweat. Overall I am really pleased with this mat! :)

It is awesome! Feels great on your feet and it is not too heavy to travel with. Also, it is great for hot yoga, you do not slide everywhere.

The mat was exactly as described and I am not disappointed at all. It's really beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. I have not tried it out with hot yoga but I will be taking it for outdoor yoga today so I'm excited to see how it goes. Really pleased with this product and have suggested to friends already!

This mat was everything I was looking for and more. First off, can we talk about the gorgeous design? I got mine in the Fantessa model and it absolutely beautiful. It's such a soothing pattern and color combination. Second, this mat is not too heavy and comes with a sling that doubles as a yoga strap. It stays put during practice and prevents me from sliding around during my super sweaty practices. Previously, I used a lululemon mat for 4 years but this one is much better suited for my needs. I haven't washed it yet but I hang dry it after each practice (as recommended) and spray it down with witch hazel/vinegar concoction to deodorize it. Third, the CS at Yoga Design Lab is top notch. The first mat I received was defective and they were super quick to replace it. All in all, I can't recommend this mat enough for heated yoga :)

My hands and feet tend to sweat a lot while I'm in yoga class and I found that I was so focused on trying not to slip, I wasn't getting the meditative and restorative benefits of practice. For years I have just been using cheap mats, but now that I'm practicing every day, I purchased this hoping I would get what I paid for. I totally did. I love this yoga mat. Not only is the pattern SO SO SO cute (I get compliments every time I take it to class), but I FINALLY found a mat that grips when it gets wet. No more slipping! I've had this mat for a few weeks and it's already improved my practice because I feel so stable on it. I was using it the first time I was actually able to jump back to chaturanga from crow pose! Yay! The only downside is there is not a lot of padding, so if you need additional padding for Pilates or other floor practices, it might be a good idea to double up.

I'm very impressed with this mat. I'd been looking for a while for a travel yoga mat, but while many are thin, they don't fold easily. This mat does. I can even fit it into my small day rucksack. It easily fitted into my suitcase when travelling abroad at the weekend. The mat is light, looks good, and is very effective. It doesn't slip against the floor, and the upper surface is also highly non-slip. If I feel I'm sliding, as in downward dog, I just sprinkle a few drops of water where my hands and feet go, and hey presto - no problem. It is thin - which is evident on a hard floor, but on a carpetted floor it's fine. And this is a travel mat, so it's unrealistic to expect the same amount of comfort. It's not cheap, but in my view well worth the money. In summary I'm delighted.
